My Creative Scrapbook | Happy Adventure | August Tutorial

Hi My Creative Scrapbook Fans! Today it's my turn to show you what I create using the Heidi Swapp stencil included in this month's main kit.

Stencils give you the ability to work with many mediums and also it's a great way to customize your work, making it your own.

I started by placing the stencil on a diagonal and attach it onto a 12x12 white cardstock using washi tape.

Next, I selected two Hero Arts Shadow inks keeping fairly close to the colors in the patterned paper and apply using a sponge dauber.

I flip the stencil over and added my second color which created a beautiful basket weaving design. At this point you can choose to add another stencil such as a flourish, stars or maybe another background design, the possibilities are endless!

I then cut the stencil design into a 9 1/2 x 7 ins. rectangle.

Next, I used the reverse side of the awesome A View Of The World patterned paper as the background for my layout and added a strip of the Let's Pack And Go paper down the left side of the layout, with my stencil design on top.  I also added machine stitching to create a circle and did  some faux stitching around the perimeter of both the strip and stencil paper.

Next, I started by placing one of Becky Higgins die-cut frame behind the photo and used another to frame my picture. I created a cluster on the bottom right hand corner of the photo using a few stickers and chipboards from the kit.

I combined one of the clipboard word from Creative Embellishments with the happy stickers from the Photoplay paper-Boarding Pass collection to create my title and tucked another sticker underneath the pattern paper next to the title.

At the bottom of my layout I added one of the border strip sticker and back it with a thin strip of pattern paper.

Next, I layered a couple of Becky Higgins die-cut frames with a few stickers to the top left hand corner of my photo and love the added dimension this creates.

I finished the layout off with some ink splatter, enamel dots and my journaling.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx Yvette

I hope I inspired you today to create something beautiful using your stencils!

Road Trip Adventure | My Creative Scrapbook-August Main Kit

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm back with another DT layout for My Creative Scrapbook using the August Main Kit and this month's cut file!

Here's this month's exclusive cut file...

I started by selecting the geotag image with the circle, enlarge it and cut it out three times from pattern paper.  I wanted to create a backing, I did this by using the offset in my Cameo and cut it from solid color cardstock.  I then added machine stitching around the perimeter and sandwiched my photos in between each geotag and adhere to my base.

I also decide to create a title using some of the words from the cut file and loved how this filled in the empty space on the bottom left side of my page.

Next, using a few chipboards and stickers, I created a small cluster to the top right of my layout and completed it by adding my journating.

Lastly I added a few stars stickers and a couple of enamel dots around the layout.

I hope I inspired you today to create something beautiful using the cut files from My Creative Scrapbook !

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

Explore | My Creative Scrapbook-August Main Kit

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm sharing another DT layout for My Creative Scrapbook using the August Main Kit!

A few pieces of patterned papers from photoplay-boarding pass collection along with a sheet of stickers were included in this month's kit and they were perfect for document these photos of Max getting a tour of the cockpit on one of our visited to Barbados.

I created a small cluster on the bottom left-hand corner of my photo which included a few stickers from the boarding pass collection, a couple of enamel dots and one of the clipboard word from Creative Embellishments, which I used as my title.

I matted my photos using the reverse side of the Let's pack and go pattern paper, which goes perfected with the color in the die cut frame from Becky Higgins - Explore set.

I added the banner sticker along with one of the Becky Higgins flair's to the top right corner of my page and I loved now the banner draws your eyes to the photos!

I finished the layout off with my journaling and a few more enamel dots!

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

You Are My Shining Star | Creative Scrappers Sketch #309

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

It's a new month and that means a new sketch here at Creative Scrapper!

Here's a look at the August sketch #309 designed by the talented Kristine Davidson.

Here's my take on this month's sketch.

To created this page, I combined patterned paper and most of my embellishments from a few Jillibean Soup collections.

I decided to use one 4x6 photo instead of two smallest photos and added a thin strip of pattern paper on top of the bottom cluster which extended across the page.

Next, I created a cluster on the bottom left hand corner of my photo that includes a flair from A Flair for Buttons, a few die cut pieces from Jillibean soup, along with some wood veneer stars.

I added another small cluster to the upper right hand corner for the photo and tucked a tag underneath the patterned paper layers and added some machine stitching.

I wanted to add a little more detail and color to the left side of my photo, I did this by tucking a few more pieces of embellishments underneath the photo and then finish off with some journaling strips.

The rock star stamp set from Jillibean Soup had the perfect phase to use as a title for my layout, I just use black ink and stamp it right onto the pattern paper :)

I finish off my layout with some more machine stitching and some paint splatters.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx Yvette

The World Is Waiting | My Creative Scrapbook-August Main Kit

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm sharing my first layout using the gorgeous August Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook!

We recently renewed our passports and the August main kit were perfect to document this day.  Such a fabulous kit to document all for your travels, from family vacation to business trip or like I did passport renewal.

I know I wanted to use the passport photos to create this page, so I decided to go with a grid design.  I started with the world traveler pattern paper as my background, then cut out nine 2 1/2 inch squares from several different pattern papers and adhere to my base.

Next, embellishments. I created a few small clusters around the layout using lots of the chipboard and stickers from the Echo Park-Go See Explore collection.

Next, I added a couple strips of pattern paper to top of the page and finished the layout off by adding some stamping around a few areas.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx
